Hello
My name is Fatemeh Heshmati. I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, a Canadian Certified Counsellor, as well as a Certified Play Therapist. I have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and provide counselling and psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families in English and Persian. I also provide play therapy for children.

My practice is strength-based, attachment and trauma-informed, play therapy-inspired, as well as client-centred. I bring a wealth of life experience, knowledge in the field of psychotherapy, resiliency and inspiration to my practice. This includes but is not limited to the experience of working with survivors of trauma including survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, and childhood trauma. I am experienced working with children who have special needs such as ADHD and ASD and need support to improve their emotional regulation, and social and communication skills. My special interest is working with families to improve their relationships. I believe in healthier families as the foundation of a safer community.
